WELCH -- Emergency workers responded to a call a little after noon Saturday at the junction of state highway 2 and state highway 10. Upon arrival, they found Richard Pollet, 42, suffering from internal and massive leg injuries. He was transported to a hospital in Miami, where he later passed away. Investigators say Pollet failed to yield at a stop sign, causing his passenger car to strike a tractor-trailer. Pollet's wife was traveling with him at the time, but was uninjured. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also not hurt in the accident.
