CARL JUNCTION, MO.--- 2nd and 3rd graders hand delivered canned food to the Carl Junction Fire Department this morning. They walked 5 blocks from the school to the fire house. All food collected is for the fire department's Christmas food basket program. The kids were thrilled to help place the canned food items in boxes for those in need.

"It is extremely important that they know they're not just taking a field trip to get out of class. That they're actually helping other kids maybe in their classroom that don't have food for Christmas," states Stephanie Taylor, Teacher.

Carl Junction junior high and high school students also held a food drive for the fire department's cause.
