NEWTON COUNTY, MO.--- Missouri State Representative Eric Burlison from Springfield has pre-filed a paycheck protection bill for the upcoming legislative session. If passed, the bill would require unions to get the approval of their members each year for spending dues on political ads or donations to political campaigns.

Newton County Representative Bill Lant, who is on the committee that will review the bill before it goes to the house for debate says there is a good chance the bill could pass this year.

"I sure it will be heard in committee, and passed out of the committee for debate. I'm sure it will be a good, fair debate, and I think we'll pass it out of the house," states Bill Lant, Newton & Mcdonald County Representative.

Lant says the bill is fair, and stands a good chance of at least making before the full house for debate.
