NEOSHO, MO.--- New Life Radio hosted their first ever "Leader U" conference in Neosho today. It's a youth empowerment activity designed to teach leadership skills to people ages 16 to 21.

The free event was only 45 minutes long but was packed with different themes and topics geared towards teenagers. Event organizers say it's important to start developing strong leaders at a young age, so they can become the backbone of our society.

"Where we are right now in our country with the economics the way they are, with our culture the way it is, the world needs leaders, and there's a leader in everyone," states Howie Nunnelly, Speaker.

About 50 people attended and a few lucky kids walked away with tablets and t-shirts as prizes in various drawings.
