PITTSBURG -- Pittsburg city manager Daron Hall says he's looking forward to what 2013 will bring to the city. He says despite the national economic condition, he believes Pittsburg and much of southeast Kansas is set for growth. Hall says there are a lot of opportunities for business growth in the area, but it's the friendly atmosphere that is a real selling point.

"There's so many philanthropic ideas out there about how to build a community, and so much energy for the university and the chamber and the local businesses, and i just think it's a good time," Hall says.

Hall says he knows first hand what a friendly atmosphere can do, because he and his family moved to the area this year and are looking forward to calling it home for a long time.
