JOPLIN, MO.--- By 11 a.m., a line had already formed outside of Joplin's Hollywood Northstar 14 Movie Theater. People of all ages waited to buy tickets to see their favorite flicks. Movie theater workers suspect the crowd could be due to more people having the day off work.

They say the new Christmas day movie releases could also have something to do with the increased amount of visitors. Many people we spoke with say seeing a Christmas day movie is a part of their family's holiday tradition.

"Well, I think we have done this several years, come to a Christmas movie. So it's fun," states Dan Houston, Movie Viewer.

Movie theater workers expect more movie-goers to show up as people finish up their family celebrations and unwrap movie theater gift cards.
