JOPLIN, MO.--- The downtown Joplin Family YMCA facility is holding an activity day for grade school children. It's a 3 day mini-camp that runs from today through the end of the week.

Kids can enjoy recreational activities, play games, and read in a safe and supervised environment. Organizers say it's a convenient way for them to have an enjoyable break and hang out with friends.

"The activity days are a great place for you to bring your kids because one, it's a safe place for you to bring your children and it's very cold out, so it's a warm place for you to bring your kids, and there's a lot of other kids that come as well," states Mallorie Larson, YMCA Summer Camp Director.

There are still a few open spots in the program. If you are interested in signing your child up contact the Joplin Family YMCA branch.
