JOPLIN, MO.--- President Obama says senators were "very close" to a deal this afternoon, having worked out an agreement on taxes. The House of Representatives won't vote on any plans to avert the fiscal cliff. So what could this mean for you?

According to financial adviser Scott Boudreaux investors could see dividend taxes going up and overall tax brackets rising. He says the impact may not hit local residents as hard.

"We're very fortunate to live in Joplin during a time where rebuilding is strong, where the economy locally has lower unemployment than the national average," states Scott Boudreaux, Arvest Investment Specialist.

A final vote on any deal could still happen tomorrow afternoon, or even on January 2nd.
