OSWEGO, KS.--- The Southeast unit of the El Dorado Correctional Facility has been years in the making. It's located in the former building of the Labette Correctional Conservation Camp which shut down in 2009.
20 correctional officers are now overseeing dozens of minimum security and sick inmates at the new prison. Medium security inmates will arrive at the center later this month. A total of 268 will be housed at the Southeast unit.
