JOPLIN, MO.--- Ashley Wayne and Heather Rodgers celebrated the birth of Lylah Jean before the new year. Lylah was born around 7 last night. She was 7 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long. The parents say they were so excited about their newborn they forgot to watch the ball drop at midnight.
"We moved to this room around 9:30 or so and just passing her around between the two of us, that was our main night," says Ashley Wayne Rodgers, Dad.
The parents get to bring Lylah home tomorrow.
