Updated: January 7, 2009
With concerns growing across the nation about bioterrorism, area hospitals and police departments are flooded with calls about anthrax and other possible threats. The information you`ve been looking for is right at your fingertips and this time it`s not on the Internet. The state of Oklahoma wants everyone to have access to information on anthrax and bioterrorism. The Bioterror Hotline leaves real people to answer your real questions and concerns about possible threats. So far most of the phone banks 150 calls deal with questions about anthrax and what to do with suspicious mail. The easy to access free phone line set up by the governor may just help other agencies cut down on the numerous calls about anthrax they receive everyday. Officials hope the information will calm fears and slow down the number of anthrax scares. If you have any questions, the number to call is 1-800-657-3090. The phone lines will be open from 7:00am to 11:00pm, seven days a week.
