MISSOURI--- Missouri lawmakers will head back to session this week with billions of dollars in federal money up in the air. State lawmakers get about a 3rd of the state budget, roughly $8 billion, from federal sources.

Recent negotiations dealing with the fiscal cliff haven't yet detailed potential spending cuts, leaving a big question mark for the Missouri budget. Local state representative Charlie Davis says that has a potential to make a big impact throughout the state.

"The cuts in spending with the fiscal cliff and sequestration is going to hurt our defense industry dramatically," states Representative Charlie Davis, Missouri District 128.

Missouri lawmakers go back into session this Wednesday, January 9th.
