There may be help for Missouri homeowners who are having trouble paying their bills. State officials say they may need to take steps to help people who haven`t been able to pay off the huge natural gas heating bills they were hit with last winter. Officials with the Public Service Commission say they will discuss an emergency rule at a session next Wednesday. About 29,000 Missouri households have been disconnected from gas service because of overdue bills from last winter. And the PSC says another 50,000 are in danger of having their gas cut off if they don`t pay up. The commission has been talking about changing the rule to make it easier for disconnected customers to get their service back and more difficult for others to lose it.
