CARL JUNCTION, MO.--- The Carl Junction City Council approved purchasing a new $21,000 pavilion for Center Creek Park. The old pavilion was burned over Thanksgiving by a juvenile suspect.

L&M Construction from Neosho will begin work on the pavilion later this month. Organizers say it will be a nice facility for families in the area.

"They can have a nice place out of the weather, out of the sunshine if it ever gets hot in the summer, so they're have a good spot for a picnic," says Steve Lawver, Carl Junction City Admin.

The pavilion should be completed in 60 to 90 days.
