JOPLIN, MO.--- The Child Abuse Prevention board members gathered to taste test for the menu at Downstream today. The fundraiser gala will be on Saturday, February 2nd starting at 6 in the evening at the casino resort. It includes dinner, music, and a silent auction.

All proceeds will go the Children's Center of Southwest Missouri. Every year, the nonprofit helps more than a thousand kids who have been physically or sexually abused. Organizers say this is their biggest and most important fundraiser.

"They can expect a great meal, great entertainment and just a nice way to help out a local organization," states Ken Williams, Children's Center Board Member.

Tickets are $85 a person or $150 per couple. To purchase tickets for the gala, you can call 417-623-2292.
