JOPLIN, MO.--- Workers at Arvest Bank in Joplin say that half the checks they received in January have 2012 on them instead of 2013. Workers say in February the dates get fixed, however it takes time to get into the routine. Many people are just in too big a a hurry.

"We're all in a rush, coming to the bank is just a simple check off the list for the day. So everybody is very fast," states Sasha Becker, Arvest.

The bank will call you and try to honor the check, but if they can't honor it, you may need to write another one since many checks are void after 60 to 90 days. Bank tellers will call you to correct the mistake.
