FORT SCOTT, KS.--- Bourbon County Sheriff Ron Gray says claims of theft have been made against a former employee of the County Clerk's Office. As part of the investigation, all county offices are currently undergoing an audit.
It's not known at this time how much, if any, money was taken. Gray has asked the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to take over to avoid a potential conflict of interest in the case. He says they hope to have the audits completed in the next couple of weeks.
