NEVADA, MO.--- Administrators at Cottey College want to add liberal studies, businesses with no international component, and women's studies to their curriculum. College leaders are waiting approval from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Right now, the college offers 4 bachelor of arts degrees. Leaders say these majors are easy to add to their current programs because they have the needed resources and faculty.

"We already have the faculty and the resources to offer a liberal studies program without doing any additional hiring and we believe we can do the same with the other two programs as well,"

If approved, Cottey College could begin offering liberal studies courses next fall and the other two majors in fall of 2014.
