CARTHAGE, MO.--- There was a ribbon cutting this morning in honor of the grand reopening of the Carthage Fair Acres Family YMCA.
YMCA leaders put in new locker rooms, remodeled their entrance and pool area, as well as resurfaced their basketball and racquet ball courts. They also put up the "Carthage Hall Of Heroes," honoring people from their community.
"Our facility is now almost 20 years old and so it was in need of lots of improvements so we took care of that over this past year and a half," said Bob Brower, Executive Director.
The project cost around half a million dollars. A major portion of the funding came from the Steadley Trust.
