Joplin Sex Offender Will Go to Prison

JOPLIN, MO--- David Wayne Morgan, 56, entered a guilty plea in federal court Thursday to possessing child pornography. Under a plea agreement, Morgan will spend ten years in federal prison without the possibility of parole.

Morgan was convicted of statutory sodomy with a child in 1997. In May of last year, Morgan allowed law enforcement officers into his home during a sexual offender registration compliance check. He allowed officers to search his computer and other storage devices. Investigators found multiple image of child pornography on the computer.
