MIAMI, OK.--- The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports all 6 deaths happened this week. The patients ranged from 19 to 65 years of age. That brings the total number of flu deaths in the state to 14.

Integris Baptist Regional Hospital reports 22 cases of the flu and one hospitalization this year. Doctors only saw 2 cases of the flu in 2012. They're seeing even more people with flu symptoms in the emergency room.

"We're seeing more patients coming in for this time of year. We didn't start seeing it until February last year and we're seeing more in our clinics, especially children," said Toby Charloe, Integris Infection Control Director.

To help avoid spreading the illness, all Integris staff are vaccinated against the flu. They're also urging patients with flu like symptoms to wear masks and avoid speaking to other patients.
