Carthage Woman Attacked in Her Own Home

CARTHAGE -- Carthage police officers were called to a house in the southeast part of the city Saturday to investigate a possible burglary. When the officers arrived, they noticed signs of a struggle inside the home, and later found the female home owner at a nearby hospital. The victim told police a white male, approximately six-feet tall broke into the home and attempted to sexually assault her.
