WEBB CITY, MO.--- H&R Block Tax Adviser, Cleta Mills says thousands of dollars in tax credits remain unclaimed each year. She says the "88-63 Education Tax Credit" is among the most commonly overlooked credits out there.

Most students and parents don't realize they can get back a portion of tuition costs through this credit. Mills adds college students and senior citizens are among those who aren't aware of all of the credits available to them.

"It can decrease their tax liability, so it will help them on their tax return. They can get some of it refunded back to them, which is going to be money in their pocket," said Cleta Mills, Master Tax Adviser, H&R Block.

Mills says people doing their own taxes need to research to make sure they know about which exemptions they qualify for. Those getting their taxes professionally done should communicate with their tax advisor and ask plenty of questions.
