Joplin Senior Center All Day Meals

JOPLIN, MO.--- The winter weather has kept many companies from opening their doors, but it didn't stop the Joplin Senior Center. All of the Area Agency on Aging Centers were serving meals to those who wanted it throughout the day.
"Meals on Wheels" did not run today or yesterday, but workers planned ahead, delivering extra frozen meals to clients. Workers add they wanted to reopen centers as quickly as possible.
"We want them to be interactive with other clients, and they'll come there, and it's a nice warm spot for them to come. They can stay all day if they want at the senior centers, they may only come for the noon meal," said Stephanie Denham, Nutrition Director.
The Joplin "Meals on Wheels" program delivers hot lunches each weekday to more than 1,500 seniors in the area.
