JOPLIN, MO.--- Some local businesses experience a boost in sales as parents try to keep their kids occupied while school's out. Vintage Stock store managers say they have noticed a significant increase in store traffic today. Store managers say melting snow and clearing road conditions may also have something to do with the increased store traffic.

"It's a good place to hang out with friends, it's part of the mall, of course, and kids love the mall. We have a theater and a gaming center, which gives them a chance to get out of their house and actually hang out somewhere," said Brandon Bond, Store Manager.

Other families we spoke with kept busy by spending the day outside playing in the snow, sledding and keeping active.
