REDINGS MILL, MO.--- The Redings Mill Board of Directors has named a new fire chief. Joplin native, Steve Coats is taking on the new role. He has been working at the Redings Mill Fire Protection District since 1995.

Coats has been a volunteer, engineer, captain, assistant chief, deputy chief and is now the fire chief. He says he will continue the leadership style they've had for years.

"My goal is to continue those and to continue the same mission we've had with good customer service, quick response times, and quality work from all of our personnel," says Steve Coats, Redings Mill Fire Chief.

Andy Nimmo was the previous chief and left to take a job at the Joplin Fire Department.
