JOPLIN, MO.--- A growing number of landscaping companies are starting to offer plowing services in the winter to offset their least lucrative season.

The owner of the Joplin based landscaping company "Destins Tree Service" says his primary business sees little to no action in the winter. To help make up for this winter time lull, company leaders put the same equipment that moves dirt in the summer to use by moving snow with it during the winter.

"In the winter time, we like to see the snow because we know we are not going to cut very many trees in the winter. So we do like to see the snow because it helps our profit, it really does," said Larry Flowers, Owner, Destins Tree Service.

Flowers adds another advantage of being a four-season landscaping company if they are able to get business from many local stores and companies that wouldn't necessarily need their tree removal services in the summer.
