JOPLIN, MO.--- Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting today for the Stephanie Roper family. Immanuel Lutheran Church supplied funding, was a construction leader, and provided many volunteers to help the family build the new home. A prayer and presentation of a bible was also part of the ceremony.

Roper says she's overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude for everyone who has helped her since the storm. "Every person that has stepped foot on Joplin soil to help everyone else, it has been his will. They have just been vessels through God, and it's a blessing and we're just grateful beyond words."

This is the 53rd house Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity has completed in the last 21 months.
