JOPLIN --- A decision to redistrict elementary school boundaries was put off until the board's next meeting. School officials met today to iron out details that will include more community involvement. Redistricting committee members have decided they will meet again Tuesday morning to discuss how to move forward. The committee is made up of a few parents, principals, and staff. Members are now expected to create an action plan to include more parents in the decision-making process.

"We want to re-evaluate the situation. We value the input that was given. And we just want to take that input, see what committee members are hearing and then come up with our next steps together," says Jason Cravens, R-8 Director of Instructional Services.

A plan to include more input will be in place before School Board Members re-consider voting on the redistricting proposal in late March.
