MSSU Distributive Education Clubs of America State Conference

JOPLIN, MO.---Missouri Southern State University collegiate "Distributive Education Clubs of America," or DECA, sent 20 members to a 2 day state leadership conference event.

Missouri Southern students competed against 8 other teams from the state, including those from the University of Missouri and Missouri State.

The team placed 1st in the corporate finance and business ethics divisions. Club members say it took a lot of hard work but it was time well spent. 

"We had a collegiate DECA preparation and we came in brought in all of the members and we printed off all of the different case studies that they would see," said Cara Gooch, Collegiate DECA State President.

12 students qualified for the national competition in Anaheim, California in the spring.
