CARTHAGE, MO.--- Carthage students get hands on training in the criminal justice field. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol are showcasing their different divisions to 30 students with the Carthage Technical Center's Criminal Justice Program.
Earlier this week, students heard from the crash investigation and aviation units. Today, they learned about the S.W.A.T Team and Marine unit's vehicles and gear.
"It gives them an idea of what exactly is out in the field, especially when it comes to state police or highway patrol, and also gives them an idea of what other agencies offer as well," said Jason Hill, Instructor, Carthage Technical Center.
This is the first year the center has offered criminal justice courses and hosted the week-long student alliance program.
