140 Day and Zimmerman Jobs Saved

PARSONS, KS.--- 140 jobs are saved after the U.S. Army transfers a portion of the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant to D&Z in Parsons. This comes after a possible closure of Day and Zimmerman was announced about a month ago. The parties reached a deal this weekend after 7 years of negotiations.

This agreement allows Day and Zimmerman to continue operations at the plant. D&Z will get 4,000 acres of the plant's property and will be responsible for environmental cleanup of the land. Company representatives say the agreement will allow the D&Z to refocus and increase the work force.
