JOPLIN, MO.--- Freeman Health System receives a prestigious award. The hospital announced they have been selected as a "Premium Total Joint Specialty Center." The award is given by the United Health Premium.

Freeman was praised for their depth of care, staff experience, emergency assistance, and procedure outcomes. Employees say this verifies the excellent care Freeman gives to the community.

"It just takes years and years of setting quality standards and doing the right thing, following the best practices, and reaching a point where a company like United Health Premium, who's the largest health care provider in the country, recognizes you as a center of exceptional care," said Dr. Richard Schooler, Chief Medical Officer.

Freeman also received a perfect score on its practices to avoid infection.
