A Four-State crime lab hits a milestone. The MSSC Regional Crime Lab is celebrating its 30th anniversary today. The lab provides a wide range of service to area police departments and prosecutors. The lab officially opened in 1971. Today, a ceremony and open house was held at the lab and those attending were able to tour the facility. The crime lab is involved in processing crime scenes, conducting testing to verify the presence of illegal drugs, DNA profiling, and many other tests. The lab serves ten counties in Southwest Missouri and several other law enforcement agencies in southeast Kansas.
