Winter Shelter Concerns

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Cold temperatures create extra concerns for animals, which live out doors. With so many dogs and puppies at the Southeast Kansas Humane Society creating an outdoor living area is a priority. With the efforts of the community a new shelter will provide a place out of the cold for dogs waiting for new homes. Individuals raised over $6,000 for the new shelter with windscreens to block those heavy northern winds. Next year the society hopes to raise money to eventually build a new indoor facility.
