One of two Southwest Missouri men severely burned after an anhydrous ammonia tank exploded in the back of his car has died. The Jasper County Coroner says Brandon Riffel of Carthage died today after spending several days in a Springfield hospital. Authorities say Riffel and another man were hauling the tank when it exploded. The other man remains in serious condition. Anhydrous ammonia is a fertilizer that can be used in production of methamphetamine.
