Patients undergoing certain procedures at a Four-State hospital now have an opportunity to reduce the risk. Freeman Health Systems has announced the utilization of The Cutting Balloon. The balloon is a device that reduces risks often associated with balloon angioplasty. Angioplasty opens a blockage and restores blood flow to the patient`s heart. Over 20% of patients who undergo the procedure suffer dangerous side effects. The Cutting Balloon reduces the risk of side effects and multiple angioplasty surgeries. Over one-million angioplasty procedures are performed each year.
