Updated: January 7, 2009
A new dam is in the works for the Grand Lake area. A Tulsa based company has applied to build a one million dollar dam at Honey Creek. The application also lists plans to build a 63-acre lake and a housing development. Officials say the low hazard dam won`t endanger surrounding property owners. The dam would be 62 feet and encompass 420 acres of drainage into the lake. Developers say the application is just the beginning of many plans for the area. A final decision on the dam is expected next week.
