Joplin Police find more than they bargain for during a weekend sobriety checkpoint. Joplin officers stopped over 400 cars at the intersection of 7th and Moffet this weekend. Lieutenant Delmar Haase says a search of one of those cars lead to the discovery of a pound and a half of marijuana. Haase says that lead to even more drugs at a house in Carl Junction.

"During a subsequent investigation follow up to this, there was a residence in Carl Junction where about 8 and a half pounds of marijuana was found in the garage at the house."
Arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance were Bobbie Moss, Aaron Kellison and Jon Miller. Haase says the driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old male, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute.
