An important program providing help for abused and neglected children will receive extra funding. The CASA for Kids Organization will receive money from a $2 surcharge placed on all domestic relations petitions filed before a circuit judge. The legislation was signed back in July by Governor Holden. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA volunteers say the extra money from the state will provide greater information to the court and help the children.
