A northeast Oklahoma man has been placed on probation for the death of his young son. 36-year old William Walden Jr. of Claremore was accused of leaving his 14-month old son in a hot car last June in Baxter Springs, Kansas. The infant later died at a Joplin hospital from exposure to extreme heat. Initially, Walden was charged with involuntary manslaughter. He pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of misdemeanor child endangerment as part of a plea agreement.
