Salvation Army Christmas Day

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
For many, the holidays are a time for gathering with friends, family, and loved ones. However for some, there is no place to go. Today the Salvation Army provided less fortunate members of the community a free meal. Residents feasted on turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie on a day when many of them might go with nothing at all. Today`s event was part of the organization`s traditional salvation army Christmas day dinner. The Salvation Army not only provided a warm meal but also provided free coats for the homeless. Also included in the day`s charities was a chance for those attending to make free long distance phone calls to loved ones. Over 150 people attended the Salvation Army dinner today and fifty meals were delivered to residents in the community.
