A meth bust in Lawrence County Missouri leads to the death of a man running from officers. A county deputy arrived at the mobile home just west of Mt. Vernon to investigate a complaint of possible trespassing. Upon arrival officers say John Ellis ran from the home. Officer began to chase him but after a few minutes of running Ellis collapsed in the woods and stopped breathing. Deputies performed CPR on Ellis but were unable to revive him. Preliminary autopsy reports indicate Ellis died of a heart attack. The Lawrence County sheriff says no weapons were fired and commended his deputy for trying to resuscitate Ellis.
