A southeast Kansas man on death row awaits his appeal ruling from the State Supreme Court. Its been more than one year since attorneys for convicted murderer Gary Kleypas presented 50 issues of appeal in an effort to get his death sentence overturned. Now, an answer is less than 24 hours away. Kleypas was convicted for the 1996 murder of Carrie Williams, a nursing student at Pittsburg State University. In a phone interview will the victims mother, Janie Williams. She said "We just hope the court will make a fair decision. We were told some of the justices were pro capital punishment and others were not. We just hope they make an unbiased decision based on the evidence presented."
