Winter Safety Tips

Winter is not the end of outdoor fun for many children. So you need to try and follow a few simple rules for making the cold season safer. To minimize drowning dangers, parents should supervise children near any open bodies of water and only allow kids to skate on ponds or lakes that you know is safe. To combat frostbite, dress in several thin layers of clothing that will keep you dry as well as warm and avoid taking infants outdoors when it is 40 degrees or lower.
