New Library for Webb City

Updated: January 7, 2009
Four State residents and businesses band together for local landmark. The Webb City Library was constructed in 1914 and the building is now in need of renovations. The building was one of several thousand libraries throughout the country donated by Andrew Carnegie. And with the need for handicap accessibility and an elevator, a committee formed to raise money for the improvements is hard at work. Baker says a small tax could be enlisted to help finish the project off. Baker says the new library could be ready in the next two to three years.
