Ceremony for Arner Planned

Plans are in place for the remembrance of a Four State law enforcement officer who died in the line of duty. Sergeant Scott Arner of the Jasper County Sheriff`s Department died Friday evening during a diving accident. Services are scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00pm at the Rocketdyne Church of Christ in Neosho. He leaves behind a wife and daughter as well as extensive family and friends in the area. Arner served the department for fifteen years as a diver, K-9 officer and patrol sergeant. Autopsy reports indicate Sergeant Arner drowned during an investigation. Jasper County Sheriff Bill Pierce said today the investigation was into a possible homicide. The divers were searching several water filled pits in the area for possible victims.
