More Employees Step Forward

Concerns about the reliability of military equipment at one four state manufacturing plant is getting national attention. It`s been more than five years since former Eagle Picher employee Rick Peoples alleged the company was building faulty batteries for use in military equipment. Now other employees are stepping forward in agreement.
Its been more than one month since Rick Peoples allegations made national news. Now more employees are saying they noticed faulty production for the batteries used in smart bombs for more than 15 years. Eagle Picher Technologies in Joplin has been under contract of the Department of Defense for almost 40 years. They have built batteries for guidance systems in rockets ranging from NASA to patriot missiles. However, around the mid 1980`s, some employees are saying the company has become laxed in their procedure. In a written release, Eagle Picher officials say they are confident they will overcome the allegations levied against them and that the united states declined pursuing the lawsuit filed by peoples. Carl Holmes with the company says a review team with the U.S. Air Force will be in Joplin next week to interview employees and look into the matter.
