A Southeast Kansas man will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Michael Bethel of Girard was sentenced this morning to 100 years in jail without the possibility of parole. He`s accused of killing three Crawford County residents. Back in March of this year, Bethel entered a plea in connection with the murders of his father, a woman who lived at the family home, and a home health nurse who tried to call 911. Their bodies were found the next morning. Upon entering his plea, the state withdrew its request for the death penalty.
