Simmons Ordered Not to Build

New concerns brew over proposed poultry plants in the Oklahoma area. State agriculture officials say they`ve ordered Simmons Foods not to build planned chicken houses in a floodplain. Simmons officials say building in a floodplain was never part of their plans. Simmons plans to open nearly 90 chicken houses near the northeast Oklahoma town of Narcissa. Opposition to the chicken houses has also caused rural water District #2 to reconsider its agreement to provide water to the poultry operation.
